A venue for yoga teacher training
A teacher training — 200-hour, 300-hour, or a specialist module — is not a retreat. It runs long, it comes back, and it has constraints an ordinary holiday let cannot hold: a room available from morning to night every day, somewhere to teach the theory, dates blocked out a year ahead, and a cost per trainee that has to stay viable over three weeks.
Le Domaine de La Planésié, at Roquecourbe in the Tarn (1 h from Toulouse, 15 min from Castres), is let whole and self-catering. We are glad to work on long formats: three to four consecutive weeks, or a cycle of weekends spread across the year.

A room that is yours, all the time
This is the number one constraint on a certifying course: contact hours are counted, and they cannot be moved. The practice room is held for your group for the entire stay — you can leave equipment, props and the altar in place from one day to the next.
- 60 m² of clear floor, under a timber roof, wooden floor, natural light from above and from the side, heating
- Up to 24 mats — room for a cohort of 18 to 20 trainees plus the teaching team
- No pillar in the middle, no heavy furniture, away from the circulation areas
- A second room of 140 m² for breakout work, teaching practice and practical assessments
Somewhere to teach sitting down, too
Anatomy, philosophy, pedagogy, teaching methodology: a good share of the syllabus happens at a table with a notebook. The large dining room converts into a study room for 18, and the sitting room with its open fire takes small-group work and one-to-one feedback. Wi-Fi covers the house, for remote modules, guest teachers joining by video and recording.
Housing the cohort and the team
8 bedrooms, 18 beds, all with their own shower room — over three weeks, the absence of a shared bathroom is not a detail. One of the bedrooms has its shower room set apart from the others, which lets you house the teaching team separately from the cohort.
For larger cohorts, our second house — Le Verger de l’Espargne, 3 km away — adds 15 beds, bringing the total to 33 people across the two properties.

Feeding a group for three weeks
This is where self-catering becomes a decisive economic advantage. The kitchen is professional and fully equipped (induction hob, oven, dishwasher, two fridges, two freezers): you can bring your own cook for the length of the training, often vegetarian or ayurvedic, at a cost that bears no relation to imposed full board. No menu you have to accept, no surcharge for every dietary requirement.
The setting
30 private hectares, of which 22 are woodland with its own paths, plus a private lake, grounds and a swimming pool. The estate is entirely private: no other group, no passing traffic, nothing overlooking you. On a long training that matters as much for concentration as for the cohesion of the cohort — the group lives together, with nothing outside pulling at it.
Options, on request
On a training that runs long, the logistics are what make the difference. These are options: tell us at the time of booking which ones you would like and we will price them in your quote.
- The cook or caterer of your choice, for the whole training — vegetarian, ayurvedic, gluten-free. No board imposed, no commission taken by us.
- An introduction to local producers and caterers, if you would rather not go looking yourself.
- Practice equipment: mats, blocks, straps and blankets for the whole cohort — your trainees arrive empty-handed.
- The rooms set up before you arrive, and left in place from one day to the next: equipment, props, altar.
- An arrival basket: the shopping for the first meal done before the cohort gets here.
- Transfers from Castres station or Toulouse-Blagnac airport — useful when trainees come from far away.
- Wi-Fi for remote modules, guest teachers by video and recording.
- End-of-stay cleaning, €150, so your group leaves without having to clean.
- Beyond 18 trainees: Le Verger de l’Espargne, 3 km away, brings capacity to 33.
- A visit before committing, which we offer as a matter of course.
Rates and long formats
Whole estate, self-catering, up to 18 people, rooms included. All utilities covered (heating, firewood, electricity, water), bed and bath linen provided, tourist tax included.
| Duration | Low season (November → April) | Mid season (May–June, Sept → early Nov) |
|---|---|---|
| Weekend (2 nights) | €1,650 | €2,100 |
| 4 nights | €2,700 | €3,400 |
| Week (7 nights) | €3,200 | €4,100 |
Long formats are the ones we prefer. Two consecutive weeks: 5 % off. Three weeks or more, or a cycle of six weekends or more booked for the year: 10 % off, with dates held up to 12 months ahead. In practice, a three-week intensive in low season comes to €8,640 instead of €9,600, rooms and accommodation included. Tell us your cohort calendar and we will build the proposal around it.
Per trainee, a low-season week for a cohort of 18 works out at roughly €25 per person per night, accommodation and rooms included. That is what makes a three-week intensive financeable.
Building your session
To hold dates or work out an annual cycle: bonjour@la-plana.fr or +33 6 73 69 10 88 — we reply within 24 hours, in English or French.
We strongly recommend a visit before committing, and we offer it as a matter of course — all the more so when you are settling a cohort here for three weeks.
